For Your Tax Burdens
|
Communications and UpdatesIntegrity Tax Resolution values communication and trust. We understand your burden and the anxiety that may come along with having to deal with the IRS.
To illustrate what you can expect from Integrity Tax Resolution with respect to updates and communications the following is a synopsis of possible client dialogues. While we cannot reveal actual communication from clients, the conversations below may give you an idea of how we may communicate with you and the IRS given your individual circumstances.
ITR Representative: Mrs. Anna Compliance, I hope your week is going well. I wanted to give you an update. I have received your transcripts and contacted the IRS; your file has been transferred to the ACS, automated collection system. I have requested a hold on your file while we work on getting you in to compliance. After we have filed all of the required missing returns we will have an idea of your total liability. According to the IRS, As of now your balance is around the $25,000 threshold for a streamlined installment program, but based upon the review of your financial information I believe you may qualify for an adequate Offer in Compromise proposal. I am scheduled to call ACS in 60 days, by that time we should have all the returns filed and you should be in compliance in order for us to move forward with a resolution strategy. Let’s touch base a week before I contact ACS to discuss which resolution strategy you are comfortable with.
Mrs. Anna Compliance: Thank you for the update, I remember us chatting about which resolution option may be best for me. I think I would rather see if we could settle the liability without drawn out monthly payments. I have been thinking about some of the financial strategies we discussed in order for my Offer in Compromise to have a better chance of approval. I will look for your call or email when we get closer to the 60 days. Have a good day.
Dialogue 2: Ms. Irmbot B Levied
Ms. Irmabot B Levied: Did you receive my faxed documents you requested? Payroll is in a couple of days. My HR director refuses to pay my whole check unless she sees a release of levy form from the IRS. I cannot afford to miss a paycheck.
ITR Representative: Ms. Levied, I did receive the information and have already contacted the IRS with the updated information. They agreed to the payment plan as we discussed and have issued a release of levy form. Because time is of the essence, I had them fax a copy to myself and directly to the HR director whom I also contacted to be sure she knows it is on the way.
Dialogue 3: Owner of a Medical Practice
Dr. Tax Payer: If the IRS puts a levy on my accounts now, then my medical practice will be in jeopardy. I have to keep the business running. Please contact me when you hear something.
ITR Representative: Dr. Tax Payer. I understand your concern. The last time we talked, you indicated you would be able to make a payment this month and possibly next month. Good faith payments should help me when I negotiate with your R.O. I will speak with the Revenue Officer to convey to him your intentions.
ITR Representative: Hello Mr. R.O. We received an intent to levy notice for Dr. Tax Payer. He has indicated to me that a payment has been made this month towards his liability; also he would like to make anther good faith payment within the next 45 days. Does your system show record of the payment? Dr. Tax Payer is very willing to work towards a final resolution of the tax liability he owes. We are requesting a hold on the account to avoid any hardship that may jeopardize his practice and ability to earn a living.
ITR Representative: Dr. Tax Payer, great news! The R.O. is going to give us a stay of collection activity. You don’t have to worry about the levy. I have a reminder on my calendar to contact you when we are getting closer for your next payment. It is very important that you remember to make the payment as promised. I will plan on getting back in contact with the R.O. assigned to your file in 120 days. If you cannot make a full payment then we can look at other options to negotiate an affordable monthly payment. I hope you have a wonderful week.
